Our second-year students recently embarked on an enlightening journey to academy sponsor Breheny Civil Engineering's site in East Suffolk. The purpose of the visit was twofold: to explore potential career paths in civil engineering and to witness firsthand the construction works of Denbury Homes at Rushbrooke, Bury St Edmunds.
The visit, organised as part of Needham Market Academy's commitment to providing education and career guidance, allowed students to engage directly with professionals in the field. Through the guided tour, the students gained valuable insights into the diverse opportunities available within the realm of civil engineering.
Breheny Civil Engineering, one of the largest family owned civil engineering companies in the UK, welcomed the students and provided them with an overview of the project. This hands-on experience not only deepened their understanding of civil engineering but also sparked inspiration for potential future career paths.
"The visit to Breheny Civil Engineering was an eye-opening experience for our students," remarked Sam Leslie, Head of Education at Needham Market Academy. "It's crucial for our students to explore various career options, and this excursion provided them with invaluable insights into the world of civil engineering. We are immensely grateful to Breheny Civil Engineering for their hospitality and commitment to our students."
