Horlock Appointed As Temporary Academy Manager

Needham Market Academy are pleased to announce they have recruited Kevin Horlock as temporary Academy Manager in Steve Foley’s absence due to his continued ill health.

Robert Peace, Needham Market Academy Operations Director said, “This is a fantastic appointment for the Academy, Kevin spent many successful years previously within the Academy and has further developed his career and will provide his leadership for the remainder of the season. Kevin has always held Needham Market FC in high regard and we have kept in contact since his departure three years ago, he is the right individual to bring in at this moment.”

Kevin will manage Needham Market Reserves which mainly consists of Academy students and work alongside Academy coaches Arron Hall and James Mant. Kevin is currently Colchester United U23s Lead Coach and previously played for Northern Ireland, Manchester City, West Ham United and Ipswich Town. Kevin was also Maldon & Tiptree manager for two years alongside coaching Colchester United’s U21s.

Kevin will come in and fulfil the role for the remaining period of the season. Robert Peace also said, “All of us within the Academy and Needham Market FC wish Steve a speedy recovery and I would like to thank Colchester United for allowing Kevin to carry out this role with us whilst continuing his role at Colchester United. Special praise goes out to Arron and James with the level of coaching they have provided in difficult circumstances and this allows them to further their development under Kevin.”
